The Macdonalds of Cedar Park

The Macdonalds of Cedar Park is my latest book, a fictionalization of the story of my family during WWII. Based on the 140+ WWII-era family letters my grandmother kept as well as primary research at Libraries and Archives.
These letters provide details and insights into what life was like during WWII when my grandfather, an engineer based in Boston and working for Stone and Webster Engineering was recruited for the Manhattan Project. As the project progressed, he moved over to the Tennessee Eastman Corporation, the manager of the secret city at Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Some links to accessible research locaitons:
Research is a very large component of my next set of stories, fiction and non-fiction, about WWII and the Manhattan Project, the 10th Mountain Division, WWII, and the Home Front, as experienced by my family. I plan to add more items here, but for a start, here’s:
- Voices of the Manhattan Project – where you can listen to interviews of a wide variety of folks who were a part of the Manhattan Project
- 10th Mountain Division Collection at the Denver Public Library
- Manhattan Project National Historic Park, 3 locations including Oak Ridge, Tennessee
- National Archives, Boston and Atlanta branches both have Manhattan Project records
